One of the world’s foremost providers of country, industry and management analysis wanted to identify hidden trends and generate insights from the Survey data.
The organizers conducted this survey with executives from various industries all over the world. The challenge was to gauge their opinion on ability of Information Technology (IT) to drive success and business change. Various levels of organizational hierarchy across varied business sizes and regions covering a considerable mix of IT and non IT professionals were the primary respondents of the survey.
Tata Strategic developed a dynamic user-defined spreadsheet model for performing cross tabulations and statistical testing for the responses of survey. This model evaluated all the possible combinations of questions included in the survey. The analyses used a Chi-square test to determine independence of proportions for the responses. Rank correlation tests were employed for testing significance of the response scores. Mean scores were used in the ranking process. The results from the cross-tabulation model and the statistical testing were used to prepare a summary of insights from the survey.
The benefits included identification of specific growth initiatives in IT according to industries, likely challenges in future IT implementation programs and recommendations to overcome them.
