A leading castor oil exporter in India wished to strengthen its current business by forward integrating into specialty polyamides. Tata Strategic was engaged to conduct a product market study, evaluate investment opportunities and suggest an entry strategy for the client.
Tata Strategic analyzed the key end use markets of polyamides in India. Demand was forecasted based on growth in end use sectors and increased penetration of polyamides vis-à-vis other competing materials. Global suppliers were profiled to evaluate potential for strategic alliances. Tata Strategic also carried out a fact and information based reverse engineering of strategy (FIBRES) based on publicly available information of various polyamide majors. A niche strategy was formulated for the client to be successful in its polyamide venture.
The client has accepted the recommendations made by Tata Strategic.
