Our Project Leaders are vital to project teams as they are required to manage them, and directly interface with clients. This is a first-level supervisory position and requires the Project Leader to play the role of a team leader on his projects.
A Project Leader is responsible for project planning, project execution, team management and client management. More specifically, he/she is expected to play the role of an expert and guide in areas of research, quantitative analysis and interviewing, create work plans, ensure adherence to timelines, ‘manage’ clients, conceptualize strategic solutions, update superiors on project progress, and guide and manage his/her team of Associates.
This role is more complex and larger in scope in comparison to that of an Associate. It requires an incumbent to not only be responsible for project management, but also effectively managing team and client expectations.
As Project Leaders become more skilled and grow in the role, they are expected to manage multiple projects.
Those looking for advancement within Tata Strategic and growing their consulting careers will, over a period, move on to become Engagement Managers or Territory Managers. They may progress from here to more complex and multi-faceted roles which will prepare them for Practice Head responsibilities. Others may choose to use the Tata Strategic experience to shift into corporate roles within the Tata Group.
Most Project Leaders possess an undergraduate degree in engineering, arts and sciences or are CAs / CFAs with a graduate degree in management/business administration. Typically, they also possess about 3 to 5 years of professional experience, especially in the consulting domain.
