The Infrastructure sector in India is on a rapid growth path.  Recognizing the urgency to upgrade physical infrastructure and facilities, the Government has not only stepped up investment but has also brought out significant policy reforms to catalyze greater private investment in this sector in recent years.  A large number of projects in the transportation sector be it in roads, sea ports, airports or railways, are being carried out on a Public Private Partner (PPP) basis.  Industrial infrastructure like Special Economic Zones (SEZ) has emerged as a new sector in itself.  Government is also laying a lot of emphasis on development of tourism infrastructure in India.

The Real Estate sector has also witnessed unprecedented growth in recent years on account of demand created by higher disposable income, growth in IT/ITES sector and SEZs.  Government has made substantial reforms in the sector resulting in high FDI inflows, entry of international players, emergence of PE funds and investment by venture capitalists.
