TSMG has assisted the Trade and Industry Panel to advise the Prime Minister’s Office on the revival of traditional industry and infrastructure development in India. All the recommendations were accepted, with a large number of them being espoused in initiatives like the telecom policy, electricity act, textile policy, etc. We have also advised the Trade and Industry Panel on how to restructure the railways.

Besides, we have worked with a $1.5bn national level co-ordinating body for dairy co-operatives. In this undertaking, we assisted dairy cooperatives of a number of states to reduce the cost from farm gate to the customer’s doorstep. The client was able brace itself for competition from foreign and private sector companies in the wake of liberalisation of the sector. In fact, one of the joint ventures between an international dairy company and a leading domestic foods company had to fold up its operations in one of the states after the exercise.
